Trump

This evening I picked up my trumpet for the first time in five years. It was nice, it's one of the only things I'm actually good at (well I was). I'll need to start looking for music online to play and some trumpet tab as well. I'll start remembering a couple of scales too. Hopefully within the next year I'd like to be playing in a band again but obviously will have to practice loads too.

Today I'm a happy boy, Friday I'll be even happier.

Failing Schools? Send the Army in!

So the Conservatives are at it again, they now want to Privatise failing schools and retrain former squaddies to teach. Well it's clever isn't it? Getting the people that they don't really give a shit about to become Cannon Fodder in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Wonderful stuff Gove.

All Time LOL

So, at the last minute last night Claire offered me a ticket for All Time Low in Cardiff which was nice. We drove across to Cardiff after driving past this fire http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/bristol/8290007.stm which was interesting and kind of exciting. I mean what blokes don't like fire. We got to Cardiff and had some Chinese, Claire had Peasobad Soup and we both had Oriental Ribs (this definitely wasn't her needing to "Pee so bad" followed by some McCoys). The first two support bands who I didn't feel the need to know the names of were awful as were the crowd. Imagine going back to 2005, well that was it. Trust me guys the fringe is back. That said ATL were super duper, really entertaining and most importantly not on too long! Pretty good evening. Claire and I then popped into see Ally too, she's gotten romantic with a boy with the surname Barber. Ally Barber? LOL. All in all a pretty good weekend minus the result. I'm really excited by this coming weekend as I get to see Fred. Her new room at Uni looks rad and she's got a "turgid" inflatable bed!

BUMP! Back to reality.

So yesterday I made an early start at 7am to get picked up at the Griffin by Rex to head to Norwich with his son Archie and sons friend Josh. The journey was quite nice heading up and we got to Norwich about 12:30. We then made our way to a lovely pub where we met Hazel, Ian, Ed, Laura, Ted and John. I drank a couple of pints of a lovely Norfolk cider and had a nice natter. My this day had been good so far. We made our way to another pub where I gobbled down another pint and we made our way to the ground. Now if the day had ended their I would have been happy. Shame about the football ey? Lets just say Rovers nor the Ref turned up. Hopefully Rovers will bounce back from this one but we've not got a game in two weeks. Ah well.

This week shall be exciting, my first full week at Uni, a job interview tomorrow, Fred times on Thursday and Alexis and FYS on Sunday. STOKED!

Open Mic and a Four and a Half Hour Car Journey

So last night was The Bank Open Mic night, I met Claire, Neil, Setback and Matt A (for the first time) at the pub. Claire had been in Corfu for a week so it was nice seeing her again. She got me a cat which is wonderful, I'll post a picture of my shitty cat collection soon. The night was rather entertaining

Tomorrow I go all the way to Norwich to watch the Rovers. I'm really excited about Rovers at the moment, there's a buzz around the place. The lovely Rex has offered me a lift for the four and a half hour trip which is great.

Can't wait til next weekend when I see my girl again, it's very boring without her.

CONservatives CONtinued

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8283570.stm

As I blogged the other day Boris is going to be on Eastenders. Here's his scene where he beautifully bumbles about and requests a bitter. It got me thinking of other classy political cameos, Mr Blair was always at it. What with his appearance on The Simpsons and showing up on the amazingly unfunny Catherine Tate show. My personal favourite has to be John McCain in the Wedding Crashers. Why this happened I don't think anyone has a clue.

Dirty Leeds

Poxy Leeds. Apparently they've got three international call ups. One is playing for a small country in Japan in a pointless friendly, one is Australian so shouldn't be playing football and the third is Slovakian. I'm rather annoyed because I was excited to take Fred to this match but I don't think she'd be able to go now as it'll be rescheduled for a Tuesday night. The only positive from this is the Yorkshire bastards will have to travel down on a Tuesday night and the Mem during a night match is splendid. Still, typical ruddy Leeds.
